Guided tours

Before the conference dinner, participants may join optional guided tours at the Monastery Klosterneuburg. These tours require advance registration, include an additional fee, and are limited to the first 250 registered participants.

Option 1: Monastery tour

The abbey tour leads through the medieval cloister and presents key artworks, including the seven-branched candelabrum of Agnes (12th century) and other Gothic masterpieces. One of the tour’s hightlights is the Verdun Altar in the Leopold Chapel, crafted by Nicholas of Verdun in 1181. The tour concludes in the Baroque abbey church, which features the imperial oratory and a 17th century organ.

Option 2: Emperor & wine

The tour begins in the imperial rooms, showcasing Baroque splendor such as the Marble Hall and Emperor Charles VI’s private apartments. It continues with a journey through 900 years of winemaking, featuring the press house with its light installation and the historic Baroque cellar, where visitors learn about the monastic wine tradition, Austria’s DAC system, and different levels of wine quality.
