Early Career Researcher networking event - Sunday afternoon
On Saturday, 2 August at 4:00 pm, early career researchers are invited to join a treasure-hunt style team game in Vienna’s city centre. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the city, ease into the conference and a low threshold opportunity to get to know other ERCs before the official start. In small teams, we’ll walk between a few of Vienna’s best-known spots, including St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg, and Café Central, with the route also taking us through the surrounding historic streets and the Volksgarten.

Afterwards, we’ll go for drinks (not covered by the fee), so those who couldn’t make the hunt can still join for a refreshing drink and relaxed networking before the conference begins.

Fee: 10€

Networking dinner – Tuesday evening
On Tuesday evening, the Major of the City of Vienna will welcome us at 10er Marie, Vienna’s oldest Heuriger (wine tavern). Discuss science over a tasty dinner, which will provide a mix of traditional and modern specialties. Vegetarian and vegan options will be provided. Please note that we will meet directly at 10er Marie, which is only a short tram ride away from the conference venue via tram line 44, in the direction of Maroltingergasse. Get off at “Johannes Krawarik Gasse”, just in front of the restaurant.

Ticket price: 50€
SAA Mentoring Lunch
The Mentoring Lunch offers SAA early career members (mentees) a unique opportunity to connect with more senior SAA members (mentors) in an informal setting, exchange experiences, ask questions, and build networks across career stages. Mentoring sessions will take place on both Monday and Tuesday during lunch. Mentees and mentors will receive more information closer to the date, including a form to indicate preferred topics, to facilitate the matching process. This event is for SAA members only and can be booked at no additional cost.
